MBM Lewisville...

I am not sure when it began, but Lewisville MBM does not take care of their employees very well.  There was a time when companies focused on their employee’s needs just as much as their customers.    And this type of mind set created an extremely loyal and hard working workforce.   I’m under the assumption that Brian Wordsworth see’s the end result but don’t see how we arrived.  I’m refering to the loss of income the drivers have experienced at the Lewisville Terminal.  This creates lower labor costs which creates more money for MBM.  This is at the drivers expense!

It’s extremely troubling that Lewisville MBM driving force DOES NOT have anyone that is looking out for them and their best interest.   They cut routes and take money away from drivers when it’s not necessary.  It’s that machine called “Big Company Greed” at work.  Squeezing every penny they can from their employee’s pay.

Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition.  It asks too little of yourself, because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself, that you realize your true potential.”
-Barack Obama

DRIVERS:  IT’S TIME TO SPEAK UP AND QUIT BEING BEAT UP!!!

MANAGEMENT:  Stop and take a look at what is going on in Lewisville, Texas.  Forget about all the meetings in John Anderson’s office.  Forget about monitoring your Nextel's.  Forget about all your budget cuts and whatever else you do.   It doesn’t matter right now.

BRIAN WORDSWORTH:  Stop listening to Dale Nester and start listening to the real voices of MBM.  Not just the drivers, but the warehouse too.  You need to know the truth.  Your success could be determined by this…

The reason we are where we are right now is because of NEGLECT.   It didn't happen over night!

For years the drivers have tried to adapt to the John Anderson regime.  It has been a mentality of management that did not give a damn about the driver.  Before John Anderson there was leadership that cared.  For years the drivers watched Bill Dobbs health worsen to the point that he could no longer be an advocate for the driver.   The driver was left to defend for himself.   Pay, routes, equipment and so much more.  Neglect is putting it lightly.  Every time a driver would speak out he would be quickly silenced.

You reap what you sew.  For you slow learners...John Anderson, (Dale Nester), sewed neglect so he is now reaping neglect.   And Bruce Boyd and Johnny O inherited their mess.  (welcome to the chaos)

This is fact.

Being a Senior Driver doesn’t mean much anymore.  Being the #1 driver really doesn’t mean much more either.

IT’S TIME…THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION…SO ACT!!!

Thoughts For Your Journey...

Several years ago coming back from my route I stopped into a truck stop in Oklahoma.   As I was walking inside I noticed an older gentlemen with an MBM ball cap coming out.   My curiosity got the best of me and I approached him and asked where he got the MBM ball cap.   He really got excited and told me that he was a driver for MBM for more than 16 years.    He told me how Mr. Wordsworth knew everyone by name and how he would call you personally to help out if he needed something.   It didn't matter if you were on the West Coast and he was on the East Coast.    He told me story after story about an MBM that cared about their people!   Then his mood changed and he sort of mumbled "but it all changed".    He told me that when Mr Wordsworth let the kids run it.   It changed.   You became a number, not a person.   He told me that it became "all about money and the bottom line".   He said that "we just became invisible to them, it was like we didn't even matter anymore".

Sounds familiar doesn't it?   It hits pretty close to home for most of us at MBM Lewisville.

It's really hard to know where to start.   There has been so many changes over several years.   And none that really has help the driver.

For the most we need to inform you of these recent changes that affect you and your money...

-MBM Lewisville's management has outsourced our Houston routes to new drivers in the Houston area.   We are not against people getting ahead in life, but those routes were NEVER offered to our senior drivers.   These new hires in the Houston area are unloading their stores with a lift gate.   And get to go home every day.  And make a very nice living.

-The same process is happening with the San Antonio routes.   This is why it is so difficult to get extra routes.

-MBM Lewisville hires new drivers and starts them out at 85% of what senior drivers make.    This is also why we don't get extra routes.   The new hires get the extra routes and MBM saves $$$$$ on labor!

-The new hires are being mislead during the application process.   They are being told that they can make 60k +!   Maybe in 2008!!!  The misleading is also causing the applicants to increase.

-There are drivers that have taken a $30,000 to $40,000 cut in pay in the last year due to the actions we have stated above!

There has been more that twenty drivers apply somewhere else in the past week.  Only because MBM Lewisville does not care about you or me.  They care about the bottom line.

We drive the miles. We sacrifice the time away from our families. We miss our kids football games, basketball games, recitals and so much more. We beat our bodies down for what...a company that doesn't care for us.  Is it worth it to work for a company for years and have nothing to show for all your years of service?

A few years back Brian Wordsworth told us that we are all family here in Lewisville. Maybe a dis-functional family!!!

Just something for you to think about as you drive down the road...

Be Safe!

Please feel free to leave comments.  If you are management reading this...Cowboy up.  People come before money.  If it wasn't for the driver the customer wouldn't receive the product. MBM gave us less than a penny raise this year.  While they are still charging our customers fuel surcharge of $30.00 and more.   And while they hide thousands of dollars of damaged inventory, from Corporate,  in the warehouse to insure they receive their bonus.   And we get a frozen turkey the size of a football.

MBM should be ashamed and embarrassed!!!
